You could be missing out on some great job opportunities if you're invisible online for instance i found my job through social media- Success Appointments a direct mail on Twitter followed by a one hour long job interview. Social media landed me my first ever job, It's not just a job it's the start of my career If you like to keep your personal social media profile private, set up a second profile as a professional.

Here are a few tips of building a professional presence online, you never know you could find that one of your friends or follower happens to be your new employer.

Get a LinkedIn/Twitter profile- fill out every section

Use a nice, professional photo of yourself (not a selfie)
Use your real name.
Ditch the funny email address and get an account with your name in it
Fill out the summary section
Share content relevant to the industry which you're in or want to be in
Start relevant conversations to the industry
Ask for advice and use appropriate hashtags, you never know who knows who might pick up on it!
Participate in groups and conversations from accounts about your industry
